April 27, 2016: Facebook has rolled out a new feature for business pages that allows them to create a brand video. The feature– called “Your Business Story” — takes creative from your page, allows you to add some text and music, and can be boosted and promoted through Facebook ads. As we’ve mentioned before, social video is becoming a hugely important tool for digital marketers, especially as Facebook users are sharing less personal content on Facebook than ever before. Users are migrating to platforms that give them creative, visual content, and Facebook is now scrambling to please small and large businesses alike. Recently, Facebook introduced live video, showing that it’s ready to compete in the livestreaming arena with scrappy networks like Periscope and Snapchat.

While this tool may not compete engagement-wise with Walmart-sized video budgets, it can be a creative way for your small business to show some personality on its page. It doesn’t require a ton of time, a huge team, or an insanely creative eye to make one, which is okay for a lot of businesses that just want to reach specific and local audiences.
